Version 0.1, HappyEmbryo's first incarnation, was created January 30, 2004.  You can still see its embryonic form at http://www-scf.usc.edu/~douglasm. 

In February, the webmaster decided that copying and pasting all that HTML code was tedious.  He considered coding his own content-managing system.  He decided against it, however, when he realized that he had no experience in any web-authoring code (except HTML).  He settled on Mambo after a run with several others that were just too cutesy to serve his grandiose vision. 

Over the next few months, he occasionally altered the template that he designed for his mambo-based website.  And now you have it: HappyEmbryo.com v.1.2, always a nascent form, in all of its general embryonic glory!
