Was this all a dream? Yeah, I'm still asleep!   Print  E-mail
Wednesday, 14 July 2004

There's something terribly ironic about two upfront men missing that homosexual vote in the Senate today to campaign, I do say.  Hey, did you see us on the cover of Time?

I can't believe I'm already on the cover of Time.  Gosh, just think about it!  Four years ago, I was saying to myself, "Ed-boy, you just gotta run for the pres.  You could just win!"  And wouldn't that be cool?  Only one term and there I'd be, sitting in the ovular office doing those presidential things they do.  Sure, my dreams weren't met--how could they be?--but this is pretty darn close.  Man am I happy.

Honey's happy, too.  Last night I was taking a tub-bath, and she came over with a rag to help out, and she said to me she said, "Now Eddie, lemme tell you something I think you should know.  I just love you!"  I thanked her, I did.  I said, "Honey, I love you too."  What she didn't know that sweet dear was that at that moment, I had a euphoric moment.  It had just occured to me that the world at large doesn't appreciate the perspective that happy fluff can bring you.  And I don't mean the cottony stuff.  I mean something a bit more spiritual: the happy fluff of seeing John Kerry everyday.  He's gonna make a garn dood president, and if he dies in the office, I will make a dandy replacement.  My kudos to you, Kerster!

Well, that's all for now my friends in the US of A.  If only all of you could experience the sheer happiness of being at John Kerry's side.  Wait, what am I saying?  You will, when you stand side-by-side with him with every speech he makes as President.  But then that's only metaphorically speaking.  Well, I'm sure you'll find some way to know what I mean.

...That is how I feel to have veep hopeful John Edwards contribute his thoughts to this fine institution of a website. I just wish that, well, you know, I could understand what he was talking about.
