April Fools passed and went without a peep from popular satire website Happyembryo.com. Consequently, the website drew attention from people the world-over and from all walks of life.
In the elusive corporate world, analysts fear that missing the shoe-in opportunity to get laughs could spell doom for the fledging website. Peter Bacanovic at Omnimedia wrote in an inter-company memo, “We at Omnimedia do not condone purchasing stock in HappyEmbryo.com. In fact, we highly suggest that if you have any such stock, you should sell it now.” He then interjected in post-script, “Sell! Sell! Sell!” and then in very fine text at the bottom margin, the confounding “* wink! *”

Above: The staff at HappyEmbryo.com had better things to do than update their website April 1st | Common sense agrees with Mr. Bacanovic. HappyEmbryo.com has recently gained wide acceptance by the public and mass media, and to not appeal to those masses would be devastating. The most successful satirists have been able to pin-point their up-and-comance to the fateful square representing April 1st on their desk-calendar. Al Franken, for instance, was a failed satirist relying on lack-luster efforts of biting political criticism and unrelenting wit. But by taking advantage of April Fool’s Day, his celebrity soared. Indeed, April Fool’s is the day when people will eat up just about anything.
Regardless, unconditional supporters unable to accept the paucity of response from the website have searched high-and-low for where the April Fool’s joke could lie. Some believe that the joke rests in the website’s lack of enthusiasm for the holiday. “Maybe it’s a joke in itself, like they really would post something on April Fool’s, but… didn’t… to fool… you,” decelerated one frequent visitor in conjecture, but later realized, “That doesn’t make much sense.” Susan Breach from the webmaster’s writing class considered the possibility that they had added an article without putting it on the frontpage, wherein would lie the true April Fool’s joke, but she, too, had to concede that was unlikely.
Despite the response and conjecture, there really is only one true answer. The April Fool’s joke rests in the website’s neutral stance in politics.
