This is the third in a series of discourses with God -- the Editors

Dear God:

My friend is dying of cancer, and I’m losing faith in You.  What can You possibly say that will change my mind?

Sincerely,
Distraught in Tacoma

Dear Distressed,

You can always rely on Me even when the healing just isn’t happening.  Remember, your friend is suffering because I [extra-capitalization] want him to: it’s all a part of my plan.  That and the 25,000 children I starve to death everyday.  I have to do these things to make room for good things in the world.  It would certainly be hectic place if everyone was earning millions of dollars and living the life.  That’s why I reserve those privileges for my favorite people.  And you aunt!  Remember last year when she almost died?  Well, I answered her prayers!  Those people are important to Me; you’re friend just isn’t.

But don’t despair!  So far, I have spared you, so feel good about that.

Thanks for the thought.  It’s been a pleasure working with you.

God
